    Description

WWI M1889 Prussian Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked with back to back squirrels over "C.E." for Carl Eickhorn. The brass guard and grip are tight, the pommel cap will move a tiny bit if you force it. The bakelite grip is complete, the WII cypher is firmly attached, and the twisted wire is gone. The leather finger loop is complete but a little dry. The folding guard has the typical Wilhelm II eagle on it. The double fullered blade is straight, tight, unsharpened, the tip is a little sharp, no nicks, and is mostly clean with just a couple small age spots. The scabbard is solid with a couple dents/dings on the lower quarter towards the drag, and paint loss with light surface rust scattered throughout. There is a hanger clip attached to the hanger mount of the scabbard, the backside of the clip has "D.R.G.M." on it. Washer is intact. Length of the blade measures 30 1/4" (7/8" wide x 1/4" thick spine), length of the sword is 36", and in the scabbard it is 36 3/4".
