    Description

    Original WWI Imperial German Hessen cavalry officer's dress sword. 33" blade has crisp 35.5 cm (14") etched panels on both sides. Etching on one side reads "Großherzoglich-Hessische Train-Abteilung Nr. 18" (Great Duke of Hessen Supply Column No. 18). Maker marked with "H" (Hessen, Holler, Horster?). Guard is damaged at one place, fish skin grip is in good condition, wire wrap is loose. The blade is tanished and not sharpened. The hilt and blade are all tight and solid.
    No scabbard.
