WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN 98/02 MAUSER BUTCHER SAWBACK BAYO-ERFURT 1902-PIONEER UNIT

Description

Very good condition original WWI Imperial German 98/02 Mauser butcher sawback bayonet that has Erfurt Arsenal markings on the right ricasso and dated 1902 on the spine. Unit marked to the 3rd Garde Pionier Battalion on the left side of the guard. Bayonet has original bright finish with some graying. Blade has been sharpened and sawteeth are crisp. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks, lock button functions fine. No scabbard. A rare bayonet that will make a fine advanced addition to a collection.
