    Description

    WWI German Model 1884/98 Bayonet.  Bayonet measures 15.25" overall with a blade length of 10".  2nd Variation, bright blade, with flashguard, spine stamped with crown over "W" over "18"; below that a cartouche.  Two crown cartouches on the pommel end opposite the press-button ejector.  Very good wood grips held by two rivets, right grip shows a area(spot) of scratches.  Cartouche on top of spine handle near pommel, with a "X" and bottom of ricasso spine by hilt.  Blade is finished in bright with an overall fine blade.  Ricasso marked, "RICH A. HERDER/ SOLINGEN".  Comes with a all steel scabbard and no markings with a gray patina. See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
