WWI GERMAN 98/05 MAUSER BUTCHER SAWBACK BAYO-STAHLBLUME 1916-NICE MARKINGS

Description

Very good condition original WWI German 98/05 Mauser butcher sawback bayonet that has beautiful Stahlblume manufacturer markings on the left ricasso including the angel trademark and dated 1916 on the spine. Blade has nice original bright finish with a little scattered gray and a few light pits. Blade was period sharpened and edge has a few dings. Remaining metal finish is bright with some scattered gray and light pits. May have been polished at some point. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with some normal handling marks, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has original blue finish showing some wear to brown and gray patinas and several dents. Bayonet does not quite enter scabbard the whole way. A hard to find 98/05 sawback bayonet that will make a fine addition to a collection.
