Description
In this auction you will be bidding on a World War one German bayonet referred to as a "quill" bayonet made by VC Schilling, Suhl. The wooden scales show no signs of cracking or rot but do show heavy use and scratches. Bayonet is tight with no wiggle at all. Locking mechanism works correctly and securely fastens to the rifle. Blade has darkened from age but no pitting. The first six inches of the blade has been sharpened, but it's not sharp. The scabbard has two small dents in the front. The scabbard retains approximately 45% of its original shiny black finish. The scabbard holds the bayonet firmly in place.
