Description
Identified model 1872 U.S. Naval officers sword manufactured by J.A. Frederick Horr Philadelphia, Penn.Blade engraved F. Van Inwagen with initials FVI on throat of scabbard for Frank Van Inwagen.
Fine example of an 1872 model word its original gold braided officers knot intact.
Wire wrapped sharkskin handle, mounts and scabbard and finish near fine.
Includes 6 pages of research on the original owner.

In 2 separate places this is described as either 1852 or 1872 model sword. Possibly just a typo but I do not know which one is correct.
Any questions I know more about the original owner than I do the sword.
