    Description

    You are bidding on an Audio Research DAC-3 Mk II digital to audio converter in black.  I am the original owner and it is in excellent condition with barely used tubes.
    This is one of the best sounding DAC's ever made for 16 bit decoding.  It does not do 24 bit high resolution decoding, only up to 18 bit and up to 48 kHz.  If you mainly use a dac for cds and 16 bit files, this is a DAC you should seriously consider.  It has beautiful tone and an incredible soundstage.  I hooked it up in the system this morning to give it a final test and used a Bluesound Node 2i as a source playing Qobuz cd quality files and the sound was stunning, much, much better than the Bluesound's output.  It will improve the sound of almost any cd player as well.  It has glass fiber, Toslink, BNC coax (will take RCA with the included adapter), and AES Balanced inputs.  Outputs are balanced XLR and RCA. It uses 4 6922 tubes and the included tubes have less than 100 hours on them.  The unit ships with the tubes in boxes inside the unit, which you have to install once you receive it.  I have all of the original manuals and shipping materials.
