    TYPED LETTER SIGNED BY SIGMUND FREUD, THE PIONEERING AND HIGHLY INFLUENTIAL FOUNDER OF PSYCHOANALYSIS
    Typed letter in German signed by, “Prof. Dr. Freud,” providing a glowing letter of recommendation for his chauffeur that reads in full (translated): “Mr. Josef Malina, chauffeur, had been employed by me and my family as a chauffeur since 1935.  He is an experienced, skillful and at the same time cautious driver who excels on the smallest city trips as well as the longest overland trips.  Just as proficient as he is in driving the car, he is prompt in the execution of all orders, adept at all work that arises and always helpful, pleasant and efficient in the execution of orders.  His honesty, friendliness and courtesy will make him a valuable employee in every home.”

    The letter is one page on personal letterhead, measures 8.75 by 8.5 inches, created in Vienna on June 4, 1938, in near fine condition, authenticated by Sotheby’s (the world’s leading auction house), and nicely matted and framed with three photographs of Freud to an overall size of 19 by 15 inches.
