ORIGINAL SOUTHPORT CLUB was one of the oldest and most famous illegal gambling clubs in the New Orleans area.  Located in Jefferson Parish, just over the parish line from New Orleans, it was owned and operated by George and Rudy O'Dwyer and was in business from 1916-1942.
