GERMAN-PRUSSIAN WWI FIELD ARTILLERY SWORD
WITH 3 BLUED PANELS
Model 1849 NCO dove head hilt.
TRIPLE ETCHED!
This beautiful sword has a plain dove head steel hilt in XXX condition.
Triple silvered wire wrapped sharkskin grip, showing minimal age.
Bonus is the reverse langet has the original owners initials.
Stunning  31.75 inch blade is in excellent condition.
The Overall Length is 40 inches. It is cool to see the difference in a
sword this old, the blade is more flexible than swords worn
only as dress ornaments.
Showing 3 outstanding blued panels that just pop out at you.
Blade still retains it’s original red felt blade washer.
1st panel is of a trooper waving his sword.
2nd panel is  2nd WURTTTEMBERG FIELD ARTTILLERY REG. NO.29 PRINCE LUITPOLD OF BAVARIA. (This regiment was part of the 26th division, garrisoned in Ludwigsburg.)
3rd panel is of Prince Luitpold of Bavaria. (Luitpold was the honorary Regimental commander of this decorated horse artillery regiment.)
I can’t stress enough how beautiful these panels look!
With the reverse side being a very beautiful design!
The original to the piece scabbard, has no major dings or dents and fits the sword tightly. Scabbard retains approximately 80% of its original paint.
Overall an excellent and desirable sword being over 100 years old to add to your collection.
It would be hard to upgrade the fine military artifact.....
