GERMAN PRUSSIAN SWORD WITH BLUED PANNEL M1859
Here we have a great conditioned M-52 Supply train sword.
Plain steel dove head , 3 bar basket hilt is in Excellent condition.
Small crack in the grip, (see picture).
Quillon block is stamped,”T.B.10.225”. Upper Scabbard has matching numbers.
Knot is not included, it is incorrect.
The best part about this sword though is the beautiful 34”Blade.
Obverse has excellent condition blued panel that reads:
HANNOV. TRAIN BATL. NO. 10.
This translates to Hannover Supply battalion #10.
This unit was part of X Corp garrisoned in Hannover.
The reverse of the blade is just as nice being etched with the patriotic slogan:
MIT GOTT FUR KAISER UND REICH,
Which translates to:
With God for King and Country.
There is also a bust of  Kaiser Wilhelm II displayed.
Scabbard shows a little paint loss,
but to be expected for a sword
that’s over a hundred years old.
The Scabbard Drag is stamped "75"
Overall Length is 40" which means it requires
an odd size box, increasing shipping costs.
Overall, a beautiful and  excellent condition sword to add to your collection,
that are increasingly hard to find in this condition.
It would be hard to upgrade the fine military artifact.....
