    Description

    Offered here is an unusual German 98k bayonet.  No scabbard, which is the way I found it. Late 1944 production by Eickhorn.  Eickhorn got to ‘y’ block, so this is one of the last produced for that year.  From what I have been able to find, this is the highest serial recorded.  Also interesting is the light grey finish.  Of all the late Phosphate finishes I have come across I’ve only seen this light shade on late Eickhorn pieces.  No Waffenamts.  Not a commercial piece as it falls in with military production.  Does not appear to have ever been issued.  Perhaps a factory piece that was found this way.  There are no signs of this piece having ever been in a scabbard.  Beautiful condition and very unusual.  United States only.  No ‘0’ bidders unless prior contact is made via email.  2 days to pay.
