On October 21, 1929, Henry Ford hosted Light's Golden Jubilee. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of Thomas Edison's invention of the incandescent lamp. It also served as the official dedication of The Edison Institute of Technology (Ford's village and museum complex in Dearborn, Michigan) to his dear friend, Thomas Edison.
Rare version medal made by Whitehead-Hoag and measures 2 3/4" diameter.
Items condition:
Book has spots on cover and toning on pages as shown in photos.
Bronze medal has patina & in excellent condition.
Note shows wear & tear & has been
professionally
encased with stamp
Ownership:
Selling from owners estate.
Oneida Hackler owned The Hackler Hotel in Ft. Meyers, Florida, where her neighbor was Thomas A. Edison. She obtained these items from him and her family had this display case made for the items. My client is Oneida Hackler's grandson who inherited the case.
