Antique Imperial German Model 1898 Rifle Bayonet Butcher Blade Fichtel & Sachs

Description

Excellent condition German Model 1898 Butcher Blade Bayonet measuring 19.75" overall with a blade length of 14.5".  Excellent condition blade, still retains 98% of its shine, ricasso marked, "FICHTEL & SACHS SCHWEINFURT" with Keys cartouche. Spine of blade top marked with two cartouches and "15", Pommel end shows correct crown cartouche along with press-stud button. The top of the guard is marked with crown over 1246.  Scabbard shows some light scattered pin-prick pitting just below the frog stud area., the finial is marked, 334 with a cartouche on the opposite side, Regimental markings on the back of the scabbard near throat, "25  2.11."  Excellent wood to metal fit of grips with minimal wear to them. Excellent working press-stud, and another cartouche just behind the flashguard.  Bayonet is tight with no looseness anywhere.  See photos, a beauty!
